Immediately after losing energy for five days last December I swore to never be in that scenario once again. I had looked at portable generators like the Honda and Honeywell 2k models considering that they were tiny and light (60 lbs). Sadly they were also highly-priced per kilowatt and did not have sufficient power. On the other end of the spectrum are whole residence 6-8KW models, but at 200+ lbs they are as well heavy for me to move by myself. I opted for the Champion 4kw given that it weighs 100 lbs and has a reasonable quantity of power. I ordered on-line due to the fact my auto is also modest to carry the boxed unit and at 100 lbs it would be tough to get in/out of the car. I was delighted to see the unit delivered to my door in just three days! It assembled in ten minutes and began on the second pull. It is pretty quiet (no louder than a lawn mower) and uncomplicated to operate. The only caution is that to use the complete 4kw you have to have a 110v/30 amp twist-lock cable, which I have not been able to uncover at the neighborhood stores. You can use a typical 110v extension cord for lower power use.
All in all, I am pretty content with the item and the quickly delivery. Hopefully I will under no circumstances have it but the peace of thoughts is worth the buy price tag.
I did a lot of surfing to obtain one I thought was really good for revenue and would meet my requirements. All critiques on this were 5 star. Packaging was really good sufficient to preserve it in tip top shape. Right after adding my own oil (not included) and gas, the generator started out correct up just after 3 pulls. Runs excellent out of the box. I purchased this for my new 5th wheel which has a 15,000 btu AC unit. Not counting the AC unit, the Generator powered almost everything else with ease. At 1st it did bog down on the AC. Following operating a minute or so, it pulled the AC unit relatively well. It must do well with smaller AC units. It was a little louder then what I expected but this is my initial dealing with a generator so I dont have something to evaluate it to. I wouldnt recommend this for RV parks as it is likely to loud but for dry camping or setting it up at a rest cease to run the microwave for that long break, it is awesome. Generally as loud as a lawn mower. Me and my wife can choose it up with ease togather. At 100+ lbs, would not suggest man handling it alone. More than all I am really impressed and it will make a outstanding dry camping addition and I currently have quite a few uses planned for it. This is definately the cream of the crop when it comes to this size generator at this price tag. There is a lot of crap out there and this is NOT a single of these. If I had it to do over once again, I would have stayed with this brand but upsized the power much more but then you are talking about alot more revenue so I had to way my selections. Bottom line - You will be happy with this, I am.
